Daniel Edwards is a British composer and multi-instrumentalist.
Edwards studied at Trinity College of Music: cello with Richard Markson, Baroque cello with Susan Sheppard, viola da gamba with Alison Crum, piano with Madelaine Jones, and orchestration with John Ashton Thomas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours.
Edwards has played the cello at the Purcell Room, Cadogan Hall, Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace, the Royal Festival Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall, and he has performed with musicians such as Gary Barlow, Jess Glynne, Katherine Jenkins, Melanie C and Shirley Bassey.
In 2018 Edwards won the Pianist magazine composing competition for his piano piece Brompton Square Waltz. The work was published in the magazine and recorded by Chenyin Li on the covermount CD. Daniel’s arrangements and compositions have been performed for members of the Royal Family, including HM the Queen.
